Who are we?
We are a studio. A studio by definition is a space where people work. Who are these people? These people are artists, painters, and sculptors. A studio is also a production company.
So when we say Sogyo Studios, we think of artists and a production company.
Why artists though? Why not another word? Why does the root word have to be art?
What is art?
Art is the expression or application of human creativity, skill and imagination, producing works for their beauty and emotional power.
Okay... So this group of people are artists to work on design? Why would an artist work on design?
Design is about practicality.
Like Bruno Munari, in his book Design as Art, mentions even an Etruscan vase sitting in the museum now had a practical use to it.
But did that vase not have an artistic element?Was it not glazed and painted with intricate and beautiful motifs?
Now to those at that time, that vase was a "design" but now to us, it's "art".
But what if you could achieve that already?
Artistic design...... Designed through art......
